Merry Christmas!

Hi friends!

Just a quick note to let you know I’m having some technical difficulties with my website (and I’m clueless when it comes to programming, etc) so I’ll be working on that in between wrapping presents & baking gluten-free sugar cookies 🙂

That means I’ll be on hiatus until after the holidays. Doesn’t mean I won’t write, but it means I’m giving myself permission not to feel like I have to write. “So much time…so little to do. Wait. Stop. Reverse that.” (Willy Wonka :))

I do have a post brewing in my mind about expectations vs. reality. How we set ourselves up for disappointment when we build up expectations in our minds and then reality falls short. This is true for many things (think family game night, vacations, relationships, etc.) but it also is appropriate for holiday times. So, in case I don’t get it posted before Christmas, do yourself a favor this season…adjust your expectations (ie. don’t expect the picture perfect holiday) and then you’ll be pleasantly surprised rather than sorely disappointed.

On a different subject, my 15yr old son and I will be heading to the Dominican Republic in early January for a medical missions trip. I will write before we go and I will definitely have pictures to show you all when we return.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas (or whichever holiday you may celebrate this season). I pray that you will have days filled with laughter, love and remembrance of the reason for the season.

P.S. Here’s a link to one of my favorite singers performing my all-time favorite Christmas song: Carrie Underwood- O Holy Night (click on the title)
